Clinical Cell Culture (C3)

In 1999, Clinical Cell Culture (C3) was formed from the Western Australian Skin Culture Unit, a hospital-based department that provided autologous cells for the entire Western Australian burns community. It was established to commercialise a number of tissue engineered products for the treatment of skin defects using autologous cell replacement.

C3 uses unique tissue engineering processes to grow skin cells from a small sample of the patient’s own skin, which is then applied to the wound to ensure increased healing rates with minimal scarring. In 2002, C3 was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, before creating alliances with Ventrex Corp., U.S.A to develop components of the ReCell? kit to enable mass production, and Cambrex Bio Science to contract manufacture CellSpray? products in Belgium for European distribution.

C3?is committed to leading the field in tissue engineering technology for skin. Product development has continued since the establishment of the proprietary culturing techniques?which have resulted in the commercial availability of several innovative products that can improve the quality of life for many patients around the world. The existing product range is supported by?sound research and development?that will result in the release of new technologies that provide real and needed solutions in the clinical and laboratory arenas.
