Caroma is a wholly owned subsidiary of GWA International Limited, a Brisbane based, Australian owned company, which has diverse interests including Sebel Furniture, Rover Mowers, Dux Water Heaters, Dorf Tapware, Clark Sinks and Gainsborough Hardware. With a variety of manufacturing operations across several states, Caroma offers world-class, experienced manufacturing skills.

The company?was founded in 1941 by Charles Rothauser. Production and technological innovation began in 1945 with Mr. Rothauser's creation of the world's first transfer injection moulder. With this process the company produced the first plastic hypodermic syringe, followed by the 'Deluxe' all-plastic cistern in 1956. It won the first of many awards for Caroma including the FH Edwards Laurel in 1956. Today Caroma is regarded as the undisputed leader in the Australasian sanitaryware industry.
